About Us
Homespun Treasures was founded in 1992. I exhibited in sewing and
craft supply shows across the country, sharing my love of fabric crochet and
offering fabric strips, patterns and wonderful wooden crochet hooks (made by my
husband, Don).
For three years I traveled the airways across the United States
and Canada, including Hawaii and Alaska (Don decided to go on that trip, too).
Once our baby daughter, Mindy, graduated from high school and went off to
college, Don decided there was no reason for him to stay home, so we
set off together crossing the states, driving our Jeep – loaded with lots of great stuff.
Now, some 5 years later, we drive a big van, but we are still referred to as
“gypsies” by my Mom. What a great way to see this beautiful country and squeeze
our grandchildren.
Our daughter Carin and her two children live in Cincinnati, OH. Our daughter
Cathy is in Lompoc, CA. Her husband, Gary, is in the U.S. Air Force, and they
have SEVEN children. Mindy is in the Monterey area of California.
Our business
allows us wonderful family visits we wouldn't have if we did not travel.
Plus, I love sharing my love of fabric crafts and introducing more ways to use
up all that left over fabric! -
